The Challenge

A sold-out premiere for 400 guests moving freely between two rooms, with eight international acts alternating in twenty-minute sets — classical, pop, electronic, performance art. One day of rehearsals, difficult room acoustics, and no chance for a pre-performance line check: anything audible in one room would have interrupted the performance in the other.

The Approach

We split the rooms between us. Both engineers covered the start of each performance in case something unexpected happened, then one moved next door to reset the other stage — instruments, mic positions, monitors, line checks on headphones — working quickly and invisibly behind the scenes, relying entirely on preparation instead of soundcheck.

The Outcome

Eight acts ran back-to-back from 6:30pm to midnight with seamless transitions, a happy roster of artists, and a format the organisers are bringing back next year.
