More than twenty music cues per episode across six episodes, every one arriving with a different track layout, and a schedule that left almost no air. The score also covers a wide spectrum of genres and sounds, which had to end up consistent as a record without flattening the character of each individual track. The premiere night added a live problem on top: an acoustically complex hall and very little rehearsal time.
The team worked the same project in parallel, which only works with tightly organised sessions and templates — importing and structuring alone was a day's work per episode. We delivered a 5.1 music mix to the dubbing stage for the series, then mixed and mastered the OST album in stereo and Dolby Atmos for the Sony Music release, and mixed the live music at the Kuppelsaal where an ensemble of around ten performed pieces from the score.
Series, album and premiere all landed on time — and the score by Hans Zimmer and Aleksey Igudesman, with producers Ben Lanymore, Tobias Alexander Ratka and Noëmi Haffner and guests Ekaterina Shelehova, Alexandr Misko and Márton Csákás, went on to win the OPUS KLASSIK for best film score of the year.
